  1. Okay I messed up. I forgot to set the rear shifter to the lowest gear, where the stud would sit comfortably on, and ended having it stuck inside while I shifted the gears. I was desperate and took it apart, and got it out, but now the problem is that I have absolutely no idea of how to put the shifter back together! It's a Shimano Deore M590, one of these guys on the picture.

I've tried looking for PDF manuals on Shimano's website, but there's just no such thing. I've even Google Imaged, and I only found one for the really old model.

Has anyone put one back together? I really need help on this.

    Thanks!

  2. Good luck. I've never had a Deore apart but I did try to fix a pair of Altus and ended up buying a NOS pair off eBay. My guess is that this may be the easiest, least frustrating way for you to take care of your problem. I don't know how the workers in Shimano's manufacturing facility do it. They all must have 7 very small fingers on each hand, and a LOT of patience.
