The mechanism of an old Citadel U-Lock [that I had used to secure my 1971 Schwinn Paramount tandem stored in a shed for a few years] eventually rusted tight and would not release. After trying in vain for a couple of weeks to loosen it with Liquid Wrench, I gave up and called a locksmith, who drilled it out. That was the last time I used a U-Lock.
