Anyone have this problem before? On my wireless speedometer, it
receives the signal from the transmitter when I hold the receiver
next to my tire, but when I mount it on the handle bars it doesn't
pick up. Any idea why? I tried changing the battery on the fork
mounted transmitter but it didn't help. Any suggestions appreciated!

Wireless speedometers have no business being on a mountain bike. The
first hard drop you take that sucker will be toast. Even wired units
    are a PIA. I go through 5 or 6 a year.

How? I had a wireless for a year or two until I lost it in a race (crashed
and forgot to check for the speedo). I've been riding with the same Cateye
    AT1000 for three years now.
