You didn't tell us the name of your town! Where is this new store? Barbara

The Whole Foods chain has opened a big (26000 sq ft) store in our town. Wow, what a difference from our other supermarkets, organic everything - well almost--a really good cheese counter staffed by people who know about cheese, great produce, meat, fish. Went on Saturday and bought a fillet of wild salmon, a bunch of chard and some cheese for lunch. They even have valet parking. Feel almost sorry for the other shops with "gourmet" pretensions.

I am impressed with their meats and the recent cheese expansion but some areas, such as produce, seafood, old prepared foods and hard goods leave much to be desired. Whole Foods can be very good or very weird, their Winter Park store goes through extended periods at both extremes. But in general WF is a service-to-the-customer store whereas there are times that Morton's screams "You do not deserve to shop here!" All in all you are lucky to have both around.
