Seems some people here are "anti-kettlebell". While I have not tried
them I was considering them for inclusion for a home gym. Can anyone
explain what they find wrong with them? At face value I don't see what
    the problem is.

    Nothing wrong with them.

But they are very trendy right now and that means very expensive. While a
dumbbell is relatively cheap. In spite of what the kettlebell people say
they are no more effective than a dumbbell. Or a swingbell. For every
exercise where the center of mass shifting and thicker handle give some
very marginal advantage there is another exercise where they don't and the
dumbbell has a very marginal advantage in effectiveness.

If cost is a concern there are much more economical options which are just

True, their expensive from Pavel's site, but if you look hard enough
you can find them for much cheaper. www.everythingtrackandfield.com has
them for about half the price of dragondoor, and they don't charge
outrageous shipping prices either. I just got a 16 kg KB for $50, plus
$7.50 for shipping (as opposed to $90 plus $24 shipping at dragondoor).
For the record, I'm not affiliated with either site, I'm not spamming,
I just wanted to get the info out there for people who might be
    interested.

That is good to know. Thanks John.
