Well when I make my own pasta suace I have to "cook it down" meaning to
cook out the extra moisture. I don't know if this is the same. Really
needs more context.
I guess that's how you can tell you're not young anymore - when these new
phrases mystify you. I only recently realized the new meaning of 'sick'.
