When you start going backwards. :-)

This AM no aches or strains, which I had expected to be legion, at
all knocked out my normal 10k run and exercise period in 55 mins
which is 5 mins faster than normal.
I will definitely do it again but not as a regular commute maybe a
monthly fun thing.
That's an excellent effort. If you do it regularly I promise you it
will get easier. Why not look at doing it twice a month to start with?
You should find you manage to hold the extra fitness better that way. A
two week recovery period should be enough to let the most tedious and
painful bits fade from the memory. I think you'll find that in the days
immediately after you tend to think, "Phew, I'm glad I did it and the
bloody thing's out of the way," but when 9 or 10 days have gone by the
feeling that it was actually rather good and you'd like to do it again
begins creeping up on you.
