I'd be using them mostly for one-arm pullups. Right now I'm using a
self-made strap that's basically a ragged and also feminine-patterned

Those things are available everywhere, probably at your local sports
mega-retailer. If you want to order that one, then order that one; it
looks like it's a U.S. company, and you're not in Vladivostok anymore.

They're much easier to wrap around the chinning bar, and they grip a
lot tighter, both on the bar and at the wrist. They're more
comfortable, too. Yes, I have a pair of the Classics that I bought at
the Arnold Expo several years ago. They cost $20 plus shipping.

Ignore what I said earlier. Upon closer examination, mine are like
the Professional Series, although I don't think they say "PRO" on
them. Those may actually be the originals because mine have the long,
smooth, rubbery grip surface, not the shorter, woven grip surface of
the Classic Series. The Classics may be an "economy model" that the
guy developed later.

Well, the guy that designed them was the one who sold them to me at
the Arnold Expo 2001(?), and he didn't seem like he was a molecular
biologist. However, he did seem like a pretty clever designer; the
grip surfaces are angled for right and left hands. Only the
right-hand one is marked, though. Given your experience in
calculating statistical probabilities, you can probably figure out
which one goes on the left hand.
