There a couple of gps newsgroups (cannot remember the names) but I have used them in the past, although they tend to be a bit techy. Maybe too techy for what we need?
If anyone is willing to start a uk.rec.gps I shall certainly look in.

alt.satellite.gps is not all that techy. Bit tetchy sometimes, but not techy. sci.geo.satellite-nav is techy in parts, but still reasonably helpful.
I don't think we really need yet another NG .. a couple of threads on one of the existing ones would work just as well.
