Awards of no-bid contracts when there are multiple vendors willing and capable of fulfilling them should be forbidden in government. Cronyism and corruption are a cancer on any society.
If this society strives to be as 'free' as it claims, we should include free markets when it comes to awarding taxpayer dollars to private companies. That means open bidding on goods and services which are not proprietary. And it doesn't matter what administration it is, Clinton or Bush, Democrat or Republican.

It should also be noted that for some of the "no bid contracts" that Haliburton recieved in Iraq, they didn't not have the personnel and/expertise to perform the job and had to sub the work out to companies that did...

What we should have done was open the bidding to Afirmative Action organizations only.
