All runs at easy pace ( around 10 mpm )
Goals: lose weight/fat and improve 5K times
Had an unusual training week due to numerous factors. The weather
finally moved toward more normal temperatures (although we did set a new
record low midweek). It was nice to find that the wind could be a
refreshing breeze versus a bone numbing, profanity producing, wind chill
factor. Took extra "punishment" runs due to influx (and personal
consumption) of junk food (cleaned out apartment and refrigerator of
college student back home for summer). Was reading Dean Karnazes book
and that put me in a long run mood. Recently acquired a HRM which
helped me lower my training pace, making me less sore and more willing
to run more. Expected Mother's Day would curtail my normal Sunday long
run so I "front loaded" it into the preceding week (Sunday run was
shortened, but probably more because of soreness that expected time
constraint).
