No running this week. Maybe no running next week either. Last Sunday did

me in. I'm currently down for the count with anterior tibialis tendonitis http://tinyurl.com/6oy8w. I should have known better than to finish the 12 mile run even with mild pain. I've had this before and I was thinking at the time that it could be ATT, but I pushed through to the finish with gradually intensifying pain. I should have stopped immediately. I'm an idiot for not learning from last year's experience. I still have 800 mg capsules of Ibuprofen left over from last year's ATT so I've been taking that 3 times a day along with icing several times per day. It's not as bad as last year, but the pain is not going away. Unless it is noticeably better tommorow, I'll make an appointment with the doc Last time the doc prescribed prednisone, which made me fill crappy but probably helped to get rid of the ATT.
damn, sorry to hear about your woes, Phil. NEXT time, you won't make the same mistake. best of luck in recovering. hang in there....

Thanks Cam. It is gradually getting better. I can flex and dorsiflex my foot with minimal discomfort. It's just a little tight. At least it's not painful to walk. I know if I go to my doctor he's just going to prescribe prednisone, so I'm just taking an 800mg ibuprofen 3 times per day (every 8 hours). Even though the steroids didn't produce any horrible side effects last time, I'd rather not go there if at all possible. At least I don't have any races lined up any time soon. Last year when I had this, Boston was 4 weeks away. I ran a total of 10 miles for the month before Boston. Maybe, just maybe today I'll test it out on fast walk/slow jog. It's hard not running right now. The weather is perfect. By the time I get back up to normal training volume/speed I'll be in the thick of the Georgia heat.
