The answer is yes, and the reason is that cholesterol acts as an antioxidant, especially important
in the elderly, and the lower you go, the higher the incidence of cancer. Read Thomas Moore's "Heart
Failure" and you'll get a sense of how badly the "medical establishment" is misleading people in the
USA in particular. Now, it's important not to eat oxidized cholesterol or allow the cholesterol to
get oxidized in your body (with diets high in iron and unsaturated fatty acids). Oxidized
cholesterol is in animal products cooked while exposed to air, so hard-boiled eggs are okay, for
example, but also avoid homogenized/pasteurized diary, except butter (slice the yellowish stuff off
the sides before you eat it though), and also baked grain products, such as cake, that contains
dairy (because it's powdered and full of oxidized cholesterol). LDL is very important because
cholesterol protects cells from free radical damage, but if the LDL gets oxidized, you've got a
major problem, which is true for most Americans as they get older because of thier diets.
Good Luck!
