Anyone want to own up to being the time trialing Brommie rider ???

Whilst driving home from a week in Cumbria today, I passed the time
trial on the A14 just west of Bury St Edmunds.

There appeared to be a Brompton taking part, complete with front bag
and possibly rear luggage. Unfortunately about to be overtaken by
someone with an aerodynamic helmet and a more conventional 700c
    wheeled machine.

I once found myself inadventantly involved in a TT.
It was early one Sunday morning and I'd just set off along the A38 after
wild camping about 20 miles north of Bristol.
It was OK for a while 'cos I was riding south while they were riding north.
Bit worrying though. My thoughts were something like this.
"I'm heading down hill, with the wind behind me, and that guy is climbing
towards me faster than I'm going. -- And it's not a guy, it's a girl!"
Anyway, I enjoyed seeing them, passing every minute or so.
But then, after a while number one shot past me as he over took. I'd not
realised that they were turning round and now I was in the middle of it.
I must have looked odd, 4 panniers and stuff all over the bike, cycling
mostly while looing behind so that I could get out of the way as each one
    caught and passed me.
Got some strange looks from a couple with a clip-board at what I suppose was
    the finnish line.

That road brings back a memory I have tried to forget :-((

That was the U18R course, and where I achieved my slowest ever 25 mile TT.
It was a Tricycle Association event and it was blowing a gale.
The half point turn was reached in a record breaking 24 mins 30 secs
then the grovelling commenced and over an hour later I passed the
    timekeeper in 1hr 28mins 47secs.

A better memory was a superb rabbit pie washed down by a few pints at
the pub at Slimbridge, the previous evening :-)
