With HST I gained muscle and with HIT I gained strength but lost

Seeing that you have tried so many different methods, would you say
HST was the best one for gaining muscle? Reason I ask is because I am
right now in the strategic deconditioning phase before I start my
first HST cycle. I haven't had as much success as I would like in
gaining muscle before and that is not due to laziness or lack of
research (maybe lack of patience though :-) ) Anyway, your thoughts?

Of the routines I've tried, I would say HST has definitely been one of the
most effective methods for adding muscle. To be honest, everything I've
tried has worked to one degree or another. The main thing to keep in mind
is that to get the best results from any plan you should follow it to the
letter. It also doesn't hurt to know why you're doing something.

A few programs I'm looking into and will probably try are Max OT, Ironman's
Size Surge routine, and Casey Viator's routine he did during the Colorado
Experiment. They all look very interesting. First, I want to get in peak
condition, then I can concentrate solely on building as much muscle as
    possible.

To update my original post, there was a typo. Here are the actual results:

    17-Apr 14-May
    Weight 200.00 202.00
    Bodyfat % 25.31 20.27
    Fat Mass 50.62 40.95
    Lean Mass 149.30 161.00

    Difference
    Weight 2.00
    Bodyfat % -5.04
    Fat Mass -9.67
    Lean Mass 11.70

I thought 20 pounds of muscle was a lot to gain in one month and shouldn't
have posted the results without double-checking them. Once again, these
measurements were taken with calipers, and so are more of a rough estimate
    for reference purposes than anything.
