Hi,
Apologies if peopel are getting bored of the good ole backpacking food
threads.
However, I was wondering if anyone could help with suggestions. Now
unfortunatly I have an allergy to pasta and a loathing for noodles,
which means that alot of the budget options for lightweight meals aren't
suitable for me, further more, I don't like much in the way of spicey
food.
So, with those things in mind, what can people recommend for suitable
light weight foods for backpacking? So far I have found BeanFeasts and
Smash to be reasonable, but variety would be nice.
Further to this, does anyone know where you can buy dehydrated or freeze
dried ingredients things like chicken, brocolli, etc... So that I can
create my own meals which "just add water"? I have found sites
advertising that they sell these products, but then have stupid things
like "minimium order - 200KG". Any suggestions?
Thanks
K

Rice? I use the quick cook rice from my local Lidl store, bring to the
boil, simmer for only 5 mins and away you go, different flaours like
chicken, veg, curry, mushroom etc. You could also try instant couscous,
just pour on boiling water and its ready.
I buy army 24 ration packs now, throw a couple in your pack or car and your
set for the weekend
