Well I have been following uk.rec.walking for a while and finally bought a ProAction 1 man tent at Argos. In case you didn't notice these are now going for a song at £14.99 during the Argos %50 sale. Took it for a couple of nights camping and walking up at Langdale in the Lakes - it rained solidly for a few hours one night and I stayed perfectly dry - no leaks - very easy to pitch (I left the instructions in the car after nowt but a cursory glance) and seemed solid enough for what I neded it for. Quite an airy tent, which meant no condensation (that's a plus). The outer could have been tighter but I was in a hurry to get to the Pub so didn't bother too much when I pitched it ;-). The zips could also be a little easier to move but nothing a bit of wax won't fix. Slept solidly after walking the Langdale horseshoe. Add me to the Unofficial Owners Club or whatever it's called! :-)
Stu, Leeds.
I too splashed out on one as I fancy taking my 9 month old border collie backpacking and didn't relish the idea of trying him in my macpac. Tent, dog and owner all survived a trial camp *wild* by a fishing pond half an hour from my house near Ashby de la Zouch. Arrived 10pm, left at early o clock am :-)) Cheers Graham

Don't overdo it with such a young dog . He may pay the price by suffering from Hip Dysplasia later in life. -- Bill Grey http://www.billboy.co.uk
