and the doctor pronounced me clear of the NHL cancer that had
insinuated itself on my body some 5 years ago. During the early
days when I was so ill in hospital I had a magazine with pictures
and the story of Lance on my bed-side cabinet. The doctors and
nurses all unaware of who he was asked why I had this magazine
open and paid so much attention to it. Because he has survived
and so shall I. He has survived and so have I - we met on the
Plateau de Beille last year! Well he didn't notice me but in a
way perhaps he did - he won that day, so did I.
Well, that's the best news I've heard all day. Congratulations to you.
I have to admit that I have a tear in my eye. Some people find Lance
hard to take but there's no denying how inspirational he has been for
huge numbers of people, and I'm glad you managed to find strength in
his story.
