Acksherley, a "cable modem" is not a "real" modem (stands for "modulater/demodulater"😉 since the signal is already digital, not analog, and thus does not need to be modulated at one end and demodulated at the other. It is just more convenient for the doofi out there to refer to it as such, since the job it performs is similar (but waaaaay faster)
