So far so good. Looks like a cheap light set that should last a season
and is easily detatchable to get put into school bags etc. It's
probably bright enough to navigate unstreetlit paths/roads slowly (at
DfT speed [3]).I'll post a followup once we have had a chance to test it out properly
(currently on Rachel's bike).
And here is the followup.
The lights are remarkably bright. They achieve this by focussing most
of the light into one spot, making a very bright eye catcher. There
appears to be enough extra light to ride by slowly on a dark lane but
we didn't get anywhere dark enough. Rachel seemed to think it was
bright enough for her. The light was brighter than my other 5LED one,
which gave enough light to ride at 10mph.
The back light is also bright, focussing the beam well.
Immediate conclusions - good value city light, cheap enough to not be
too [censored] if they get nicked/broken in a school bag.
Performance - to be seen by, 8/10. To see by, 2/10. Value for money,
9/10.
I'm tempted to get a second set for the cupboard but technology will
probably drive the price down and performance up ..
