I have a badly sunburnt left elbow today. Having thought about
it, I put this down to yesterday's trip having been clockwise
around southern Oxfordshire, northern Wiltshire and eastern
Gloucestershire, keeping the sun permanently on my left elbow.
Either that, or I didn't quite get around to plastering the
elbow with sunblock.
I always tan more on the right side, whatever my route.
I'm not sure why this is, but the reason I came up with is that because I
cycle on the left there is more shade on that side, from road side hedges,
buildings etc.
