    WROTE:
Damsel's post got me thinking about Easter, which I've managed to ignore
quite blissfully so far this year. Here's my tentative menu:
    Artichokes with Lemon-Garlic Butter
    (Riesling)
Baby Greens with Grapefruit Sections and Mirin Vinaigrette Roasted Lamb
and Potatoes with Rosemary and Garlic Green Peas with Mint and Butter
    Walnut-Olive Focaccia
    (Bordeaux)
    Strawberry [censored]
Some issues remain, and I hereby solicit opinions:
    1. Rack of lamb or leg of lamb? There will be six adults eating. Cost
isn't really a consideration. Last year I made three racks of lamb for
these same guests, and that worked out well; I'd think one leg of lamb
    ought to suffice.
    2. My guests aren't all that big on coffee. What would you want to drink
with the strawberry [censored]? (We'll be eating around 3:30 PM.)
    3. The strawberry [censored] has a layer of cream cheese and whipped cream
holding the strawberries upright within the crust. Would more whipped
cream on top be good? Would homemade ice cream be better? Or how about a
dessert sauce, and if so, WHAT dessert sauce?
    4. I'm not all that sure about the Bordeaux with the main course. Any
    suggestions for a different wine?

RESPONSE: This year thinking about item not usually served on easter in
this home, turkey, as I didn't bake one on thanksgiving and tired of ham
    every year.
Home Depot has an indoor counter top turkey deep fryer might give it a
    try.
Still thinking about sides for that day but will have the traditional
hot cross buns & challah bread from local jewish bakery.
Dessert might be lamb cake using my new martha stewart lamb stand up
    mold.

I'm terrified of the outdoor ones. Indoor is even more frightening. Is
    this thing electric or gas?

*smile* My mom made hot cross buns every year. Thanks for the memory.
Judging from the rest of this thread, it's also imperative that you include
either scalloped or au gratin potatoes, too. 🙂

That sounds like fun! Will you be covering it with coconut?
