reminded me of certain items I always keep on hand. For lack of a better
word I'll call them staples. Currently in the pantry (among other things-
the list is too long) I have 12 cans of tomatoes (several different kinds),
dried pastas (several different kinds), flour, sugar, canned soup and
broth, box cereal, Asian noodles and canned Asian foods, tomato paste,
several types of box cake mixes, canned frosting, canned baked beans,
Manwich, 8 cans of albacore, canned vegetables (several kinds), extra
containers of cracked, regular and whole black pepper, 1 box of Kosher salt
and 1 of sea salt, paper napkins and plates, bottled salad
dressings, bottled BBQ sauce, 1 extra jar Hellman's mayo, several varieties
of mustard, assorted hot sauces, dehydrated items such as mushrooms and
chiles and lots of other odds and ends.I will not even go into the list of what I always have on hand in the deep
freeze. What does everyone else keep on hand all of the time? I watch the
sales and if one of my 'regular' items is on sale at a good price, I'll buy
it. I watch the dates on the items such as mayo and salad dressings.Michael
