While D napped this afternoon, I pulled the weeds from around a pecan
stump next to the patio out back. (That stump was another check, by
the way. The tree had to go. It was less than a foot from my
foundation and less than a yard from the main power line into the
house. At least it wasn't Earth Day when we had it cut down. Another
tree not far away has died, but I've not taken it down yet because of
the woodpeckers that live in it. A redheaded woodpecker's call is
evidence they descended from dinosaurs, I think. Funny, too. Also a
flock of cedar waxwings has visited it most days this spring.)
Ok, Mother Earth forgives you for cutting down one tree since you left
the condo for the birds<g>. Time to purchase another pecan tree and
plant it further from the foundation. Someone will thank you years
from now.

used meat section of the meat counter for dinner, so this is what I
used meat? Do you mean meat that the chicken used for a while, as
opposed to the unborn eggs that people periodically rave about? Or
were they pre-digested by some critter who raided the henhouse?;-)
OT, but do you hand pollinate the day lillies, or let the bees diddle
the pistels?
