heat index for FL.Yes indeed. It is sometimes amusing in mid summer to have the weather
guy report tht the temp is 106 but the heat index is only 102 :-)While the low humididty does make higher temps more bearable I think
the real impact is that the desert cools off drastically at night- it
is not unusual to have > 30 degree F differentials between daily highs
and lows. So, even when the temps are over 100 at the max they are
still in the 70's in the morning and that makes outdoor activity
pretty nice. But most folks here do their activity pretty early. Our
club rides now start at 6 or 6:30. Of coure, we're a bunch of old
fogies so we're asleep by 9.
Well I am a morning person anyway. So that might appeal to me. Here in FL
the difference in daytime highs and overnight lows is usually only about 15
degrees. High of 90 equals low of about 75. Makes for uncomfortable sleeping
weather. But on the other side of the coin, it is very rare for the temps to
get into the triple digits.
