i'd be very interested in this if it is regulated - any chance you could measure current at various voltages to confirm? Or let us know how bright it stays as the batteries wear down?

It's not, although there's plenty of space inised to add one. See my website for a complete dissection and review http://www.ajjrice.plus.com which even shows that it could have been regulated for only a few extra pennies. It's still a good light though. It would actually be FAR better to only use it with NiMH batteries for reasons discussed in my review.
