Hi all, I would like to upgrade my disc brakes (Hope’s Mini Mono being the favourite at the moment) but do not know which size rotor I should get – how is this size dictated? Are there any other measurements that I’d need to know to upgrade?
Unless you are doing alpine downhills there's no point in an 8 inch rotor; you aren't going to get fade on a 6 inch one on any hill in Britain. Of course, if you think 8 inch looks cooler, that's up to you.
