My "moment" went as follows:

Riding up Lancott Hill into Dunstable some 15 years ago, minding my
own, a 7.5T builders lorry comes around the mini roundabout I am
approaching. As he exits the RAB I note with interest that the
compressor he is towing is no longer attached to the rear of the lorry,
but is now heading in my direction with sparks flying up from the
tow-hitch end.

Transfixed like a bunny in the headlights I realise that this thing is
not going to stop and I made my way onto the footpath at the next
available opportunity. The driver of the lorry managed to pin the
compressor between his lorry and the kerb, bringing it's brief bid for
freedom to an end. I am stood on the pavement no more than 5 feet away
crossing off one of my nine lives.

Which in turn reminds me of last July's incident with the Incredible Flying
Dibblemobile:

It would appear apparent, to me at least, that dinosaurs were
largely burrowing creatures.

I had to dodge flying bits of a dibblemobile but was on foot at the
time (no I wasn't running away!)
rear wheel comes off, creates an interesting large wheel shaped dent in
the radiator of a brand new Jag (week old) , just avoided by me as it
bonces across the pavement, into a wall, then back onto the road into
the side of a fraud sierra.

Dibbles personal vehicle he had just picked up from the garage.
