hoping to go up Ben Nevis for the first time on Saturday. Can anyone recommend a route that gives a couple of reasonably fit old codgers the best chance of achieving it? Obviously nothing too severe /dangerous and we don't scramble much any more but are fairly experienced walkers with map/compass/gps and all the other safety precautions!
From Torlundy walk to the hut at 167722.
Cross the stream and walk to 147724.
Follow the Tourist Path to the summit.
Descend from 150732 to 147751 were you can cross the river.
Total time was about 9 hours in sunny winter conditions and fresh snow above 200m.
