It was between A Chralaig and Mullach Fraoch Coire in snow and ice.

Short but fairly exposed. The route offers two problems, a traverse
and a short scramble. The scramble could be belayed quite easily but
you'd be struggling to put up a rope as a running guide along the
traverse and any other safety would be of limited value other than
    psychological.

As others have suggested, your partner really needs to be working
up to this sort of exposure. A basic climbing or scrambling course
might give them a bit more technical confidence but only experience
can help the vertigo and mental issue. A few years ago the same
route in the same conditions wudae deen ma heed in too.
