It has just been reported that Rob Milne died nearing the summit of Everest.

I heard the news on the way home from Inchcolm. .. We crossed paths occasionally through our bagging activities and I was really enjoying racing him over the last few "problematic" Corbetts.
I will miss him... Deepest condolences to any family who may dip in here, one of Rob's old hangouts.
Last time I saw him, was at a party up in Kincraig, Rob was working in Naples, and turned up late, but still got a dinner. The rest of us had just walked/driven over from the Milehouse.
He was giving us a TR of trying to outwit the guards to bag Vesuvius.
