  2. I needed to read these posts because today was the first time I rode in
the icy snowy stuff... Felt like a goof ball until I got used to it so
thank you all for inspiring me to go back out there. On the last tumble
I took, my foot got caught on the pins and I landed on my wrist pretty
bad.. Oh well, it aint broke, so out for more fun on my 24...

  3. My commute (5 miles each way, 3 x's a week on 26" Nimbus) takes me
through a park covered in snow/ice in addition to the usual icy bike
paths and streets (I live in Minneapolis) and I've found that the stock
tire on my Nimbus Muni works great. I regularly ride across long
sheets of ice and feel just find without studs as long as I don't turn
(I tried that once and ended on my rear). Fresh powder is definitely
my favorite...freemounting is still easy and the powder just adds a
little friction to the ride. Packed snow with frozen footprints, etc
still presents a challenge for me. Harder to mount and definitely
    harder to stay on!
