Has anyone read the book Natural Hormonal Enhancement by Rob Faigin? The
book explains how to manipulate your body's hormones (such as lowering
insulin) through a low carb diet and exercise.

If it works for you, by all means keep on doing it.

It may not be for everybody, however.

    Someone said that "

"The human body is amzing. It can survive well on almost anything.
Therefore, it is really quite diffucult to learn much by simple study of
what people eat and what happens."

    Good luck.

    Why didn't you post:
    1) Actual weight and loss and
    2) body fat decrease data?

The diet is less than 60 carbs a day, but you have two "carb load"
meals per week where you can eat as many carbs as you want, but at
least 70% of your carb intake must consist of starchy carbs. The
purpose of the carb load meal is to make sure your metabolism doesn't
    decrease:

"...a thyroid hormone called triiodothyronine (T3) is a key regulator
of metabolic rate, and calorie restriction causes a decline in T3.
Studies have also shown that diets that continuously restrict
carbohydrate (like the Atkins diet, for instance) cause a reduction in
T3, and that administering carbohydrate can restore T3 levels after
    they have declined."

I've been on the plan for about two months now, and I've lowered my
bodyfat percentage and significantly increased my muscle mass by
    working out.

Here are the studies that support an occasional starchy meal during a
    low-carb diet:
