OK, exactly what all is supposed to be subtracted from the carb count
to get the net carbs? I am looking at the USDA National Nutrient
Database and for a large poached egg they have .38 carbs by
difference. What is "by difference" anyway? They also have .o6 for
    sucrose, .10 glucose, .o6 fructose, .06 lactose, .06 maltose and .06
galactose. Are any of those subtracted from the actual carbs that they
    listed by difference?

Any help would be appreciated and thanks for your responses in
    advance.

I'm not sure you are supposed to subtract fiber in Atkins. I know you
do in Protein Power. But I have an older version of the Atkins books so
maybe he allows it now. To play it safe you can just forget about
    subtracting them.
