Almost all of our milkweed in Ontario Canada is Asclepias
syriaca, which contains almost none of those glycosids. It's the
species common further south in North America that contain them.

All Asclepias spp. (MILKWEEDS, WHORLED BUTTERFLY); leaves, stems; plant
contains toxic resins (cardiac glycosides) . .
That includes Canada!!!!!!!!
