The word's pause.

So at the end of Induction you'd lost 10 pounds. Since the ideal
loss rate for keeping it off is 4 per month you're actually good for
2 months. Not that any dieter in history would want that to
happen.

It is extremely common to lose nothing in week 3 and common
to lose noting in week 4. It's the body evening out the unrealistic
initial drop.

You don't need to since nothing's wrong.
Quoted message said:As for even 3 weeks being too long, Dr. Atkins defined a stall as 4
weeks without loss of either weight or inchs without a change in
excercise, eating habits, etc. I'm comfortable with that definition
and see no need to start foolling around with what one is doing just
because the scale hasn't moves for TWO weeks.
IMO the reason for the definition is simple - what's realistic and what
isn't. The water loss of Induction often gives newbies unrealistic
expections. Folks don't get that water isn't fat so they think it's
physically possible to lose fat at 3500-4000 calories per pound at the
same rate as water at 0 calories per pound. The four week thing
is specifically to teach what is realistic in the face of that.
Check back if 162 at the end of week 6. That's when the disagreements
will start in the advice on how to proceed. ;^)
