You look at the speedo. What does it say? How old are you?
Most of my riding lately has been on an MTB with slicks and full panniers, with lots of stop lights, stop signs, a mile-long stretch of rocky dirt and even some sand. On a regular 12.5 mile ride I do the ride with average speeds of 16.5 to 18.75mph (elapsed time, not "riding time"😉. The delta is has more to do with timing of the lights than anything.
