Back in '73 a nurse friend of ours told us her first experience with a
meditation patient... a pilot who was in for his routine physical. He asked
her what BP she would like to see. She, of course, did not believe him, but
took up the challenge. Well, he performed as promised and she dug into the
matter, eventually taking a course from Silva Mind Control, and my wife and
I later did the same. I can now sit in the doctor's chair, close my eyes,
count from 3 to 1, visualize a pleasant scene, and my BP drops dramatically.
Take up meditation. You will get the double benefit of accelerated healing
    while lowering your BP.

Dr. Simonton in Texas is healing cancer with this technique. It's well
documented by now, although it was considered witchcraft back in those days.
You see nurses teaching biofeedback to patients before going into surgery -
same reason - accelerated healing and lower BP through meditation.

Every day, in every way, you are getting better, better and better.

    Have a great day!

    Wayne

Things sounded OK until you got to the cancer part.

You had me there Wayne. I was thinking "yeah,
this is a perfectly good way to reduce anxiety
    and thus blood pressure."

Then you had to go and toss in that little
snippet about "healing cancer" with "this
    technique." The implication, though you
may not mean it, SEEMS to be that Dr.
Simonton is healing cancer with meditation
    alone.

    A short Google search reveals
    the following:

    C. Thomas Simonton, M.D.
    Texas Colon And Rectal Surgeons
    Woodhill Clinic
    8315 Walnut Hill Lane, #110
    Dallas, TX 75231

Would this be the Dr. Simonton to
whom you are referring? If so,
then I would hazard a guess (without
having contacted him or the clinic)
that meditation is being used in
    conjunction with other more
    conventional therapies.

Please forgive me if I sound a little
snippy. That's not my intent. However,
in this forum especially one must be
    careful about the description of
    any treatments for cancer.

    Kindest Regards,

  5. My reference to Simonton is anecdotal as I do not have personal proof of
what I said. I believe it is Carl Simonton, and the 'story' goes back to
1973 when I heard of his work. I believe the meditation is part of his other
techniques, and that visualizing a healing process at near hypnotic levels
of mind was the trigger to reverse the disease along with strengthening the
    immune system.

I believe vindication of this process can be seen in recent articles on
faith healing; where distance healing is taking place by those praying for
the sick person. If 'healing' can take place at a distance, why not by one's
self if the mental images are right? After all, when you have a deep cut in
your arm, your body does the healing if you keep it clean and away from
infection. There is a natural tendency within the body to heal iteslef; if
    given a chance.

Somewhat off the subject, recent studies in the Navy of accelrated healing
using nothing but light from an LED. And Chromatherapy has been around for a
while also - this is deffinitely non-traditional medicine.

    Bye
