    hi all,
I've been training for 6 months and lately, when I do benches I feel a
pain on the right side of my back, at the lowest part of the shoulder
blade. It hurts as I push off the weight and extend my arms. Is it the
rhomboid muscle?? I've never injured this area so I'm wondering
what's the cause of the pain? bad technique? I'm following some video
clips and text descriptions off some websites.

It doesn't hurt if I do chin-ups, dips, shoulder presses or shrugs.

    advice is greatly appreciated!

I would try scapular retraction prior to the lift. Feels a bit wierd at
first, but soon you should be comfortable and moving more weight.

    Bob
