First time out walking for a some time (foot problem, yet again), so it was
good to be back in the boots.
A very pleasant walk from West Marden in West Sussex taking in the small
hamlets of Up Marden and East Marden. There is also a North Marden, but not
visited on this walk. The walk is actually sections from 10 other walks we
have done in the same region ...... some combination!
The start of the walk took Clare and I southeast over footpaths to Haslet
Copse. Here, we turned north, still on footpaths, to our next point at Up
Marden, passing through Grevitts Copse on the way. Next was over to East
Marden, where a stop outside the church was enjoyed with refreshments. The
clouds started to open as we headed northwest towards Fernbeds Farm,
becoming bright sunshine as we passed over Apple Down back to Up Marden.
Turning right close to Up Marden's 13th century church, we headed east to
near Telegraph Hill. A left turn here and onto a track back to West Marden.
The clouds had, by now, closed and the sunshine gone! But, it was very mild
and a great walk.
