Odd, that's exactly how it seemed. I got the impression you thought
people partying was a bad thing.

I live in the farm and haven't peed on myself in decades, so it'd be
pretty unusual for me to be standing in the road with a marguerita, but
yes, I am one of those people who enjoys Mexican music, food, and drink
and will make it a point to do so on May 5. I've also been known to
listen to Celtic music and drink green beer on St. Patrick's day, enjoy
bratwurst and German beer at Strassenfest, Pieroshkis and Vodka on May
Day, and in college used to celebrate an annual Latvian festival. The
short version of this is that like lots of folks, I consider it a
**good** thing to enjoy food, music, festivals, celebrations, and drink
from countries, ethnicities, and even religions other than my own.

But maybe you're right. Maybe I am a moron, and its a bad thing to enjoy
food, drink, or celebrations that you didn't grow up with in your own
family. Maybe it would be better if people didn't spend so much time and
energy trying new things.

I believe what he takes exception to, is the effective shutting down of the
whole centre of a busy working city, by drunken yobs - I've seen the same
kind of thing, and it ain't pretty. Partying, celebrating - those are one
thing, but causing peoples busy workdays to grind to a halt, and staggering
drunkenly into the middle of the 'road' FFS - that's just plain ignorant,
self centred loutish behaviour.
