A poor diet also depletes glutathione reserves, because glutathione is used
up in detoxifying the extra heavy load of toxic metabolites that poor diets
create. While it is very beneficial to eat a good diet to avoid excessive
glutathione depletion, it is not easy to maintain optimal glutathione levels

It's long time since this message was written (in 1998), but would
like to comment that glutathion deficiency from eating food grown in
sulfur-poor soil or meat from animals grazing from sulfur-poor soil is
one of the strong determinants in HIV replication and mutagenesis.

Sulfur deficiency stems from agriculture disrupting either sulfur
recycling by cutting down trees and/or burning plant materials that
evaporize sulrfur so it is most possibly transported far from Africa.

The project to grow new trees may in future turn out to be among the
most important steps towards lessening rate of infections.
