At Interbike there was a booth just up the way from us called the Un-Saddle. They have a noseless seat that pivots on a special seat post. I tried one out. It seems to work alright. The only problem that I perceived is that it could be very difficult to ride without hands. There is nothing to brace against to while sitting up.
From what I remember about reading the previous article from 1997, the guys that they studied rode for hours with numb nether regions. I don't know about anyone lese, but if I lose contact with my outer limits I stand up or get off the bike until I get some feeling back!
