Today I finally did a ride I've been thinking about for a couple of
months. I live on the Wirral Peninsula, so I pedalled down to
Woodside Ferry, got the ferry over to Liverpool and then cycled home
by going all the way along the Mersey to Widnes, over the Runcorn
Bridge and then back along the Wirral to home.

Well done you! There's some steady climbs that way; deceptive,
especially with only three gears! It was quite breezy up here today as
well. Did you go through Albert Dock and along to Otterspool, then
round the back by the airport and through Hale?
    Cheers,

Yes. Strong headwind all along Otterspool Prom.

Er, no - but looking at the map, perhaps that would have been a better
way. I went past the Jaguar factory and then turned right, off the
main road, and headed to Hale Bank. As I was passing the factory (at
quite a pace) I realised that I had passed an NCN sign on my left. I
reckon this was probably part of the Trans Pennine Trail but I just
kept going along the (fast and nasty) road.

I took my GPS receiver with me and have just loaded my route into
Memory Map. It's interesting to see where I was ....... and compare
that with where I *thought* I was!
