Is anyone who says things like "obesity is caused predominantly by
overeating" by definition a Troll ?

To me a Troll is someone who makes deliberately controversial
statements to wind people up, what is remotely controversial about the
    above ?

Nothing, it's not what people want to hear. Kinda takes the fun (and
success) out of trying to trick themselves and their bodies into eating
right on the borderline and lose weight at the same time.

    I looked up "Denial"

"denial, in psychology, an ego defense mechanism that operates
unconsciously to resolve emotional conflict, and to allay anxiety by
refusing to perceive the more unpleasant aspects of external reality."

An the external reality is that lotsa folks here are carnally in love with
    food.
