Big Congrats, Dan! That really sounds like a killer, esp with all
the heat So Ca has had lately.

Thanks, it was high 60's at the summit when I finished at 9:30, but in the
90's at the 6000' start by noon. The old rule of thumb of 3 degrees F per
    1000ft worked.

Congrats on making UNDER time, and the AG placing! Was the other guy
in your AG far ahead, or is he a target for next year?

He and I are pretty well matched, he was rested and speed-trained. We'll
    mix it up again soon.

    Hope you have
a good run on Mt Whitney, too, sounds tough but fun.

The 99 switchbacks starting at 12,000' and climbing about 1500' are the
killer part. The last couple of miles above 13,500' are actually pretty
    runnable.

Here's a pic of the last mile or so of Whitney. Note dropoffs :-)

Ahh! So there is a big target on his back! Good luck!

YIKES! I'm not too keen on the drop-offs stuff. But I bet the views
are to kill (or be killed?) for.
