OK. Today I decided to take the plunge and move away from SPD. Why?
While I like getting out easy, sometimes it's just too easy. Having
tightened the adjustment all the way, it's obvious that it will never
get better. Now the choice was what to choose? Time? Crank Bros?
Having tried the Atac's previously and falling hard with the bike still
attached, I was afraid to go that route again. I thought long and hard
though. The regular crank bros don't have a platform. As small as the
Sitmano 959's are, at least they have something to rest my feet on. So,
I chose Crank Bros Candy's (154 grams each). Yes, I was nervous. I
know a lot of peple with CB pedals and just the sound of them clicking
    in gives me the woolies!

I attached the pedals to the Racer-X. Put the cleats on my shoes and
head out to the street. Interestingly, I did not here that solid click
that the normal CB's make. Just a little tick noise and they were
firmly in place. Now the challenge. Can I get out. Turn my foot to
the outside and pop. Out it comes. Hmm... Not so bad. I do a few
laps around the block, clicking in and out, bunny hopping without coming
undone, and some wheelies off the curb. Wow! What have I been missing?

Consider me a Crank Brothers convert! Bye, bye SPD (well, the road bike
will keep them). BTW, the CB's are a hell of a lot cheaper than the

    959's!

I'm using Time right now, but thinking of going back to flats for a short
time. Since I have been out of biking for a few years, I've been pretty damn
timid about doing the things I used to do with the clipless.

Toe clips on flats? Way better.... ;-)
