live in the SW . Since discovering how convenient and useful Memory Map is
we no longer carry a map - rather more to the point we no longer manage to
get lost. Most of our walks come from various publications from which I
create / adapt and download a route to my PDA. Apart from the route
facility provided by Memory Map themselves do any of you know of route
freesharing sites that we could lift routes from and perhaps offer up our
own ?Mike
Do you know about the free WalkingWorld index accessible from Memory
map itself? At this page
http://www.memory-map.co.uk/share_routes_ww.shtml
you can download
http://www.memory-map.co.uk/downloads/mm2004/routes/ww_routes.mmoThen, in MM, use Overlay > Import to load the MMO file. It will
display over 2,000 walks, in these categories:Easy Walk
Gentle Stroll
Hill Scramble
Moderate Walk
Mountain ChallengeTo get *full* details of each walk you'd need to subscribe at
http://www.walkingworld.com/
It cost me £17.45 and I just renewed at £15.45.There *are* a few free 'walk sharing sites' around, and I was looking
at one only on Wednesday. But while trying to fix an XP issue
yesterday I inadvertently zapped my Firefox bookmark history, and
can't recall the name.
Hi Terry, good to see you on this NG too :-)
