Actually, in National Geographic a few editions ago some american
woman justified it on teh basis that she loved knowing that whatever
she might bumpo into teh other thing would come off worse. This
accompanied by a picture of her two children happily playing behind it
parked on the driveway - presumably she'll be ectstatic if she 'bumps
over' her son one day.regards, Ian SMith
These are the only class of motorised vehicle that I’ve heard Jeremy
Clarkson be negative about (TV prog a year or so back).
He thought the fuel consumption around town was pretty stupid.
Interviewed a woman in Hampstead? and asked why she needed such a vehicle.
When she said it could get up snowy hills better, he asked, “what was the
car that she used to drive that couldn’t get up London hills”?
He also likened them to nuclear arms in that you had to get one to protect
yourself from others that already had them.
