  1. Or cogito, Go…

    Alone that night,
Each dreams of a glass conservatory ~
Fine-de-siecle violet tulips opening their throats
    Swallowing light,
    Thirsty creatures, their sight myopic,
    Eager for approval.
    Weeping willows stand
Guard over ceremonies mandatory, silver tinkles
    Claps, wraps, cockles crystal goblets,
    Decanted from
Nectars of Morning Wood. A silver trail you follow,
A spiraling star, up a lemon tree, etching
    This galaxy,
Where each admits the secret she’s
Privy to, games with his repertoire. Multi-colored
Chandeliers, a constellation mapped overhead, design
    A canopy
Bed. Emerald green, raspberry pink, infinite
Mirrors duplicate our quarantine. Reflect passion
    Flowering from the stem
    Of our enclosure.
    Oboes sing themselves
    Serene. O hide-a-way hid undercover ~
    Forgotten, just a carefully
    Cultivated rumor…
Only tourists mingle here, obsessed between crinkled
Cotton sleeping sheets, leaves unpaginated ~
    Illumination
    Shimmering
A single fancy hitherto left unanswered,
    Faulting
    Lines of a self-appraising ego,
Cogito, when light scaffolds the canopy
Overheard. A window, a foliate tracery
    Blooms raspberry, blue berry,
Black to light, a shadow-casting form
    Splendors night.
